Applied wins first prize in the “Innovatori Responsabili” competition with Genesi

We are proud to announce that Applied has received first prize in the “Conoscenza e Saperi” category of the “Innovatori Responsabili” Award competition organized by the Emilia Romagna Region.

The “Innovatori Responsabili” Award

The project, now in place for ten editions, aims to promote the culture of corporate social responsibility and social innovation. Year after year, the “Innovatori Responsabili” Award is becoming an increasingly wide-ranging initiative, aimed at highlighting projects in line with important regional policies and testifying to the continuous interest and great participation of the most representative realities present in the territory.

“Genesi: digital twins for education.”

Applied participated in the competition by presenting its Digital Twin solution, Genesi, applied to the field of education. In fact, Genesi stands as a key element in combining academic training with current market demands.

An innovative project that effectively involves teachers and students of professionalizing mechatronics courses at area universities, it highlights the benefits of adopting digital tools in education.

Thanks to the digital twin of production lines, which is fully programmable, students are able to simulate entire production processes, from the movements within it to the technical aspects, going beyond the physical limits of real laboratories and allowing students to develop practical and immersive skills, providing them with the necessary resources to prepare them for potential future challenges in the field of robotics and automation.

Thus, in this way, through digital is intended to support and strengthen the educational quality and at the same time the production phase.

The project includes activities to train faculty in the use of Genesi (editor side) and students in the use of the software (player side). Virtualization of entire production lines offers benefits to both industry and educational pathways, providing greater accessibility than physical labs and reducing costs.

Future Scenarios

The future goal is to expand the adoption of the Digital Twin of entire production lines, involving university research centers and extending the adoption of the Digital Twin to other educational tracks in the area, so as to attract new students to one of the most important local production chains.
